Dear HCA Students and Families,

With the closure of non-essential services such as Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts, and Ontario schools on an indefinite closure as well, we are planning to offer solutions to parents and families. We will be unable to open again on April 6, but are working to keep our students creatively engaged.

Payments:
Please be assured that we will not charge any payments until we are all able to return to the classroom! The exception to this is within our Music Department, applying to those who have agreed to online music classes from instructors that are currently able to offer it, as well as students who have decided to continue with weekly Yamaha classes. If, at any time, you feel that online music lessons no longer work for you or your family, there is no pressure to continue. HCA aims to be as flexible as possible as you make necessary decisions.

Our Ongoing Commitment to Creative Engagement
HCA is committed to stretching our students’ creative muscles outside the physical classroom.

We are planning to offer Pay-What-You Can online arts classes to our student body and the greater community. These dynamic workshops will help us collectively stay connected to one another. They will also act as a fundraiser for our instructors, so that we can continue to offer income sources at a difficult time for the arts community. We will be announcing programming, scheduling, and registration this week – please stay tuned!

Communicating Updates:
HCA will continue to bring you updates as we have them – please check your email as well as our social media and website.

Contacting Staff
Because our building is still currently closed, the best way to contact staff is through info[at]hcarts.ca, or through individual staff member email addresses. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

We look forward to engaging the community, even if cannot be together in a physical sense.

Sincerely,
Vitek Wincza
Artistic Director, Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts
