Photographs of Ted Basciano taken by 17+ photographers

About the Exhibit:

This fun installation of about 50 photographs reveals bits of my life from age 3 to my present age of 50. These photos were all selected by me. Most of them are in the style of zany. A few others could be described as poetic. The works of over 17 photographers are being displayed in this exhibition. They are being celebrated by me for all of the support they have given to me throughout life. A few of the images were taken by professionals, such as Kaz Novak, who has worked at The Hamilton Spectator for about 30 years, and Sandra Mulder who has worked at Banko Media for about 16 years. Many of the images were taken by Hamilton artists: Paul Cvetich, Susan George, Vesna Trkulja, Christianne L'Esperance, and Bill Ward. Then there is another group of artistic people who have much knowledge of using a camera: Alistair from Nova Scotia who creates pinhole camera; Kevin Lee who does photo shoots of Hamilton's scenery; Susan and David Snelgrove who both took photography courses for three years; and Scott MacKinnon, who photographed several Canadian bands in the late eighties.

The images of John Josko and Vesna Trkulja dominate this show. They are two close friends who I have known since high school. It is a pleasure to model for them because they take time to compose playful scenes.

25 different locations around Hamilton are shown. Another 11 shots were taken in other places that were part of my life, such as Windsor, Toronto, New York, Seoul, and other locations in South Korea.
