Christoper Pew began his exploration of paint later in his life. After many years of not painting, and having worked as a graphic artist for nearly 20 years, Christopher decided to leave the world of cubicles and office buildings for a world of brushes and canvas. Without any formal training in painting, he had only his passion for creativity as the force behind his concepts and their execution. Each piece is a personal journey for Christopher, but because of the metaphoric imagery of the work, he would soon find that many could relate to the tone and mood of each piece. The viewer is able to pull meaning from even the most subtle and subdued piece because of the unique placement of the figures, the added elements, and largely in part due to the overall mood cast by colour, tone, value, shadow and light. Christopher's philosophical approach to painting has, and will always be that "Everyone is an artist. Each person is in fact creating their own world by their actions and reactions. That is truly artistic in every sense of the word, but to be a great artist, and to create the most amazing works of art, and reality, all that is required is for the artist to simply get out of the way".
