HCA's Dance program offers classes from ages 2-92, in styles ranging from Ballet to Modern to Hip Hop and Musical Theatre.  Take classes recreationally, or train seriously, at HCA it's up to you.

 

HCA Music students can study a wide variety of instruments through either private lessons or group classes.  There's something for every taste and skill level.

 

 HCA's Theatre department explores all areas of the theatrical experience - improvisation, script building, character work, design and directing.  Classes available for all age groups.

The Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts is one of the top facilities providing music education in all areas. Our music teachers are well qualified and passionate, which guarantees an enjoyable and stimulating learning experience.

HCA offers group music lessons as well as private instruction.

The music students will be given the opportunity to perform in three major performance classes throughout the year held in the HCA Recital Hall, creating an excellent opportunity for each student to celebrate their knowledge and abilities.

Music Classes for Children

Part of the popular HCA Triple Threat program, but available on it's own, Glee Squad combines the joys of choral singing with the exuberance of ensemble dancing to offer an experience that is unlike any other.

Individual Programs

The music instructor will meet with the child and parent/caregiver to discuss expectations for the music lessons.  Based on this meeting, a program will be tailored which may involve one or several of the following;

• reading notes
• playing piano from notation
• improvising on piano
• improvising with percussion instruments
• playing piano ‘by ear’
• experiencing dynamics and rhythm
• song writing/composing
• learning scales and technique
• preparing for RCM exam

This program introduces children to experiencing music before learning to read music. Classes will emphasize voice and movement through singing games/dances, beat and rhythm through body percussion. The Orff instruments (xylophones, drums, tambourines, wood blocks, etc.) are used to bring the child to an understanding of beat and rhythm

Private music lessons provide students with knowledge and experience which increases their level of proficiency and develops confidence. Lessons are tailored to meet each student’s unique needs. Though it is optional, it is encouraged that students take RCM examinations and participate in our music performance classes and recitals. Private Lessons offered in the following:
