What Students, Educators and Your Community have to say...

Students

“This program helped me believe in myself, also showed me that I can do what I want to do as long as I work hard for it.”

*Parkview Student
CONNECT Project

“This experience helped me communicate with others better, it strengthened my team skills. I gained new friends and respect and just the joy that I was a part of something was so great and fun.”

Tanya Lewis
CONNECT Project

Educators

“The Mentorship project has been well received in the schools by teachers, students and principals. The co-op students have been outstanding not only in the delivery of the program but in creating a passion for the Arts in many of the elementary students. As well, they have assisted teachers who do not necessarily have the expertise, and knowledge to deliver the rigorous Arts expectations to students.”

Gerda Morrow
HWCDSB Principal of Programs

“I would like to take the opportunity to recognize the positive effects the CONNECT Project had on our Grade 12 students. The potential for a successful project was evident to me at the onset of the program, however, the degree of its success was an unexpected pleasure.”

John Whitwell
Parkview Secondary School Principal

Community

“We are very encouraged by the demonstrated success and immense future potential of the CONNECT Project – a highly effective solution to help youth at risk gain practical employability skills through hands-on experiential learning in the arts.”

Richard Allen, Executive Director
Industry Education Council of Hamilton

“This kind of programming is desperately needed to address inequities in the opportunities that special needs students have, especially in regard to the Arts.”

Bob Bratina
Ward 2 City of Hamilton Councilor

"Providing children with additional workshops that involve dance, music and visual arts, plays a very vital and important role to the development of our children. It also proves to be beneficial in the children's academic achievements."
